Hi all, my name is Timothy Nguyen. I've studied in the US for 7 years and encountered people from all over the world. I've been an interpreter for 3 years now, and before I was a local tour guide and a real estate agent. Why a freelance interpreter? First, I love being outside, meeting new people, and having new experiences every day. Office environment with its monotony doesn't seem to fit me well. Second, I'm a very creative person, and interpreting is a highly creative endeavor (even though many would say otherwise). Language is never simple, and in many cases there's absolutely no exact translation so the interpreter must rely on his wit alone. Here's my favorite example: a Japanese ambassador told a Japanese joke in front of an American audience, and everyone laughed. The ambassador, impressed by the skill of the interpreter, asked him how he was able to translate the joke so quickly, and he said: "I didn't. I said that the ambassador just told a joke. Everyone, please laugh."

Anyway, if you ever have a chance to visit HCM city and are in need of an interpreter, give me a call, or send me a text. Cheers!
